Terms of use

Effective from 31/10/2026

2. The service

fin is a web application for a personal view of your finances: managing accounts and transactions, forecasts, loans, credit cards, investments, planning and shared expenses. You enter or import the data yourself. fin has no access to your bank, makes no payments and does not hold your money.

Basic use is free. The Business plan is a paid subscription: you see the price before ordering, payment is processed by Stripe, and the subscription renews automatically; you can cancel at any time for the end of the paid period. No payment obligation arises without your express confirmation. When a subscription ends, company data stays stored but is not accessible until you renew or delete the company.

3. Conclusion of the contract

  • The contract is concluded in the interface language (Slovene, English or German) when you complete the registration form, accept these terms and click Create account.
  • You can correct all entries before submitting; if something is wrong, the form shows you what to fix.
  • You receive a confirmation by email when the contract is concluded. The terms are always published on this page, where you can save or print them. We also keep the date and version you accepted.
  • An account can be created by an adult aged at least 18, for personal use.

4. Your account

Keep your password and tokens safe and tell us as soon as possible about any misuse. Enter only data you are allowed to enter. If you enter other people's data, such as a borrower's name or an email for an invitation, make sure you are allowed to do so.

5. Permitted use

The following is prohibited:

  • using the service contrary to the law or storing illegal content,
  • hacking the service, overloading it with automated requests or circumventing its limits,
  • accessing other people's accounts or sharing access with unauthorised persons,
  • sending unsolicited messages through invitations.

You can report illegal content to info@unicode.si, which is also the contact point for users and authorities under the Digital Services Act. We communicate in Slovene, English and German.

6. AI assistant

AI features are optional and off by default. You turn them on with your own API key from the provider Anthropic, with whom you have your own contract and whom you pay directly. Before connecting a key, check whether that provider's terms allow your use. When you use the assistant, you are talking to an artificial intelligence system, not a person. Answers can be wrong, so check them before relying on them. More in the privacy policy.

7. Not financial, tax or legal advice

Calculations, forecasts, simulations, alerts and AI answers are informational aids. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice and are not a recommendation to buy or sell financial instruments. Prices come from external sources and may be delayed or inaccurate. Calculations depend on the data you enter and may differ from your bank's. Check important decisions with your bank or an expert.

8. Groups

Data you enter in a group is visible to its members. If you leave the group or delete your account, shared expense records stay with the other members, but your name does not. If you are the only member, the group is deleted; otherwise ownership passes to the longest-standing member.

9. Availability and changes to the service

We maintain the service with due care, but it may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance or external circumstances. We recommend exporting your data from time to time. We may change the service where justified, for example for security, new features or regulatory changes. If a change would significantly worsen your use, we will notify you in advance by email and you have the right to withdraw from the contract free of charge.

10. Liability

We are liable for the conformity of the service under the Slovenian Consumer Protection Act (ZVPot-1). These terms do not limit your statutory rights. We are liable under the law for damage we cause intentionally or through negligence. We are not liable for decisions you make based on incorrect data you entered yourself, for third-party services you connected yourself, or for force majeure.

11. Term, withdrawal and account deletion

The contract is for an indefinite period. You can end it at any time, without reason or cost, by deleting your account in settings . You can export your data first.

As a consumer you may also withdraw from the contract within 14 days of conclusion without giving a reason, by deleting your account or sending us a statement, for example: “I hereby give notice that I withdraw from the contract for the use of the fin app. Name, account email, date.” Withdrawal from the free part costs you nothing. For the Business plan we refund your payment within 14 days, less a proportionate amount for the service already provided if you asked for it to start before the period ended.

We may temporarily restrict your account or end the contract in the event of a serious or repeated breach of section 5, or where the law requires it. Except for urgent security reasons or legal requirements, we give you advance notice with the reason and at least 30 days to export your data. The same applies if we discontinue the service.

12. Changes to the terms

We tell you about material changes in advance in the app or by email, and they apply only once you accept them. If you do not accept them, you can export and delete your account.

13. Complaints and disputes

Send complaints to info@unicode.si. We reply within 15 days. We do not recognise any alternative consumer dispute resolution provider. The list of providers is published by the ministry responsible for consumer protection.

The contract is governed by the law of the Republic of Slovenia. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings in the court of your place of residence. Otherwise, the competent court in Slovenia has jurisdiction.
